Patterns and prints play an essential role in the vibrancy and
energy of a space. They contribute to the visual look and feel, and
provide an individual aesthetic that speaks to the occupants of the
space. Patterns and prints from an African perspective honour the
pride and joy of a culture in a colourful and vibrant way.

One of the easiest ways to revitalise your home this spring
is by combining locally designed home accessories, prints and
furniture. Bold colours and graphic patterns create a lively,
vibrant and modern space. – THE NINEVITES

It’s important to
have a theme and style
that guides your print and
pattern selection. Play
with different proportions
and thicknesses and when
mixing, I would advise
going for rounded patterns
and prints to ease the eye
against sharp edges.
- PINDA DESIGN
Successfully combine a
selection of patterns and prints
by mixing and layering them
with layers of complementary
colours. This helps to create
rhythm and a continuous flow.
We like to anchor a space by
using an oversized patterned
rug with the same feel as the
other patterns and colours in the
room. – LAFORMA SA
