Pat Cleveland

A trailblazing model who sashayed, twirled

and posed her way into legendary status,

Cleveland first hit the scene in the 1960’s,

breaking barriers for women of color in an

industry that had long ignored us. She continued

to captivate audiences in the decades that

followed with her lithe frame, larger-than-life

personality and vibrant runway walk. One of the

first African-American models to achieve promi-

nence as both a runway and print model, she has

graced the covers of Vanity Fair, Essence, Harper’s

Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, L’ O f f i c i e l, Vogue Paris, W

and Elle. Last season she triumphed at the all-

Black Zendaya x Tommy runway show alongside

Grace Jones, Tyra Banks and other legends.
