Q Has been a lifelong quest to find the

perfect perch and I’ve discovered two

things: 1. Perfect doesn’t exist (see point 2),

2. Totally depends on riding style. I’ve
   settled on the Aliante for my longer rides
   and the Rapha classic saddle. My new crit
   racing bike has a Prologo dimension saddle
   and at first I thought ‘no way, this will be
   swapped very quickly.’ To my horror I love
   it so far, especially on fast aggressive rides.

Q Get a saddle map done and save yourself

Q Lifelong quest. Every year I try several

different saddles and until recently have

always returned to my Rolls. Currently

trying Selle Italia Diva and Man saddles. I

prefer the Diva and may stick with it, but my

Rolls is more comfortable for me.

Q Bontrager Ajna saddle! It came stock on

my Checkpoint and it was the answer to the

question I’ve been asking for 13.5 years! I’ve

tried just about every saddle out there and

had given up hope. Thought that I would

always be in pain and uncomfortable.

Thankfully that is no longer the case!

Q Tried so many, too many to count. My

saddle of choice for an aggressive road

position is the Romin, by far my favourite.

Not great for an upright position though.

Least favourite for the road is the Brooks,

maybe hipsters have different sit bones. For

TT/tri I’m currently liking the new Sitero,

the old Sitero was awful. Justin Foster

Q A thumbs up for the Brooks B17. It does

get more comfy the more you ride. I have an

uneven pelvis, so unlike all the fixed-mould

saddles this has moulded around me

perfectly. I’ve treated myself to a titanium

one recently which has a dampening

shock- absorbing effect. Linda Petzing

Q Charge Spoon. Been around the houses

plenty when it comes to saddles. The Spoon

cost the least of all of them, but is simply the

most comfortable for my rear end. Day Varris

Q Selle Italia Turbo; been using them since

1982 and still the most comfortable saddle

Q Thanks to 1980’s Yellow Pages I bought

the razor blade saddle that horrified Dad.

Q Changed a lot. Settled on my Brooks

Cambium. C13 surprisingly comfortable,

although doesn’t look it. Mark Gaul
