The biggest news, however, is not

this all-wheel drive droptop will lunge off the line and hit 60 mph in four

seconds flat—and not quit till the speedo needle is showing 198 mph.

What I love most about the way the brawny V-8 delivers its power is

its duality of character. One second it’s happy purring along with four

cylinders deactivated; the next it’s burbling, barking, and hurling the

GT at the horizon, making it feel like an oversized supercar.

This is a spectacular vehicle—the finest, most joyous-to-drive con-

vertible out there. A car where V-8 power is more fun than the 12. Yes,

this new GT V-8 will set you back $218,350 and up. But for savoring

the upcoming Florida winter—along with the occasional Toblerone to

satisfy your chocolate cravings—this is one tasty treat. «
