Glamour: What lessons have you
learnt about achieving your goals?
Candice Thurston: Don’t let anyone
say you can’t do it. Be patient,
positive and hard working.
Glamour: What things will
you never compromise on
when it comes to self-care?
CT: Exercise and good skincare
and haircare regimes.
Glamour: What new makeup
product is on your shopping list?
CT: It would de nitely have to be
Maybelline Snapscara Washable
Mascara in Pitch Black (R140).
Glamour: How often do you
go for beauty treatments?
CT: Once a month, I go for laser,
facial threading, intense hair
treatments and gelish on my nails.
Glamour: Which skincare
products do you swear by?
CT: La Mer Crème de la Mer
Moisturising Cream (R2 550)
keeps my skin moisturised, even-
toned, and creates a natural glow.
And I also love Ahava 24K Gold
Mineral Mud Mask (R1 307).
Glamour: What’s the best beauty
advice everyone should follow?
CT: Get enough sleep and always
wear an SPF, as the sun causes the
most damage to your skin and
speeds up aging.
Glamour: Who are your beauty
Instagram crushes right now?
CT: In uencer Nandipha
Mqoco (@nandipha_mqoco)
and makeup artist Beez Glam
(@imakeyoubeeliv) are
two of my favourite
beauty Instagrams.
Glamour: How do you keep your
hair looking as good as it is now?
CT: I am obsessed with using Redken
Extreme Cat Protein Reconstructing
Treatment (R456). And I use Mizani
25 Miracle Milk (R230) as a leave-
in and a detangler.
Glamour: What are your
signature scents?
CT: Calvin Klein Be EDT 200ml
(R700) and My Burberry Black
EDP 90ml (R1 970).
Glamour: What do you believe
is the most signi cant barrier
to female success?
CT: Self-hate and self-doubt. We
are our biggest obstacles because
we allow external factors to stop
us from taking a stand and driving
female equality.
Glamour: What would you
tell 18-year-old Candice?
CT: Never say never. And don’t
judge a book by its cover.
