PEYOTE STITCH BAND
1) On a comfortable length of
thread, attach a stop bead, leaving
a 6-in. (15 cm) tail. Starting in
the upper left-hand corner of the
pattern, pick up the following 11 0
cylinder beads: A, 2D, 3A, C, 3A, C,
2A, 2D, A. These beads will shift to
form the first two rows as the next
row is added.

Quick Start
option If using a Quick
Start Peyote Card, follow
the instructions that came
with the card to add the first
two rows, one row at a time.

2) Following the pattern or Word
Chart (get it at FacetJewelry.com/
resourceguide), work in f lat even-
count peyote using the appropriate
color cylinders. Repeat rows 1–120.
End and add thread as needed.
If you used a Quick Start card,
remove the beadwork from it.

BRICK STITCH POINTS
1) The working thread should be
exiting the edge D in the second-
to-last row (photo a). You’ll begin
adding the points along the right
edge of the pattern, starting with
the bottom point.
2) With the working thread, pick
up a D and an A, skip the next
thread bridge on the edge, and sew
under the next bridge (photo b).
Sew back up through the A just
added to lock it in place (photo c).
3) Pick up a B, sew under the next
thread bridge (photo d), and sew
back through the new B to lock
it in place.
4) Continue in brick stitch as in
step 2 to complete row 1, with the
following beads (or refer to the
pattern): 3A, B, 3A, B, A, D.
5) For row 2 and beyond, work
in the opposite direction, sewing
under the thread bridges on top
of the previous row and using the
following beads. Each row will get
progressively shorter by one bead.
Row 2: DA (for first stitch), 9A, D.
Row 3: DA (for first stitch), D, A, B,
A, B, A, D, A, D.
Row 4: DA (for first stitch), 2A, 2B,
