The pair’s split was confirmed
as Miley, 26, was pictured kissing
blogger and reality TV star Kaitlynn
Carter, 30, on a yacht in Lake Como
in Italy last week. Kaitlynn – who
is said to have known Miley for a
number of years – split from her
husband Brody Jenner, 35, last
month after they tied the knot in
Indonesia in June 2018. However, it
was recently reported that the former
couple never obtained a marriage
licence in the US, meaning their
union wasn’t legal.
As The Hills star Brody tried to
laugh off the snaps of Miley and
his former wife, things between
him and Miley became heated on
social media.
Brody wrote on Instagram: ’Watch
out! Pics of Liam and I holding hands
on the beach coming soon.’ This
sparked a sassy reply from singer
Miley, who is said to be the one who
ended things with Liam, which read:
‘Go take a nap in your truck and cool
off. #HotGirlSummer.’
In August 2015 Miley revealed that
she was pansexual, meaning she’s
attracted to people regardless of sex,
gender and gender identity. Since her
Hannah Montana days, the star hasalso become known for her wild antics,
including smoking a bong in 2010,
twerking with Robin Thicke at the 2013
MTV VMAs and filming a naked video
for her song Wrecking Ball. Miley has
also spoken about her love of marijuana,
and after quitting the drug in May 2017
she claimed in December 2018 that
she’d begun using again.
Liam is said to have been unhappy
with the way Miley has been acting
up for the cameras recently, including
licking his face at the Met Gala in
May. Our source continued: ‘Liam just
wanted Miley to grow up and thought
she was finally over her wild stage. He
wanted her to settle down. Miley was
much more radical than Liam was ever
willing to accept and he found her
antics embarrassing.
‘Miley is a rebel and her way of
showing that was uncomfortable for
Liam, who wants a quiet life with kids.
Their priorities are just so different,’
added our source, who says both Miley
and Liam are ‘heartbroken’.
A representative for the couple
confirmed their split with a statement,
saying: ‘Liam and Miley have agreed
to separate at this time. Ever-evolving,
changing as partners and individuals,
they have decided this is what’s best
while they both focus on themselves
