a greatmanyenemies,”magazineeditorTinaBrown
saysof thePeople’sPrincess,whowasjust 36 when
she died. “She was constantly breaking the rules,
andpeoplewereupset.”Especiallytheroyalfamily.
Dianaburnedbridgesbytellingallabouttheminan

Sheknewshe’dgone toofar.“Shewasfrightened,”
saysherformerbutlerPaulBurrell,whois oneof sev-
eralfriendsDianaconfidedinaboutherfearthatshe
wouldbe murderedina caraccident.Andconspiracy
theoristsbelieveseveralpowerfulgroups—includ-

McLarenfindsclarityfromwitnesses—includ-
ingonewhohasn’tspokenfor 22 years—and
theirtestimonymaybe enoughto sparka new
