This is my 1962 Duo Glide I purchased in April of 2017. It was a rolling basket
case. I was looking for a ’62 as a tribute to my dad. It was the last year I remem-
ber he had. It also happens to be my birth year. It was completely torn down to
bare frame. Along with a few cases of beer and couple good friends, I started re-
building with all the parts I had. Painting and polishing, saving as many original
parts as possible. Swap meets and long nights, searching the Internet for missing

I’ve been a longtime reader on and off
for quite a few years and riding for 50
or so. American Iron Magazine is great, I
like Donny Petersen (got all his books),
and most of the bikes you feature as
long as they are something the every-
day schmuck like me can afford. Have
had Flatheads, Evos, Twin Cams, and
I’m now on my third Shovelhead, a 1976 Super Glide I picked up that was sitting
in a basement in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, for 20 years and pretty much a mess.
Rebuilt it in my sunroom, painted it in my garage, and it’s been a work in process
for six years or so. Keep up the good work. Liked the Indian in issue 377, wish
Harley would make something like this. For about the same price, I might con-
sider buying a new one. Thanks again.
