T
he MiG-21 was built
in Russia and then
exported to numerous
satellite states, such
as Vietnam. The early version of
the aircraft featured a forward
hinged canopy with a smaller
tail than later versions. This
is the irst time Eduard has
released an early version of the
MiG-21, and they don’t take
any shortcuts on this model.
The moulds for the wings
and fuselage are brand new
with the appropriate panel
lines. There are seven sprues
of light grey plastic, with no
lash or blemishes anywhere.
The panel lines are petite and
engraved, and the breakdown
is quite logical and there are
plenty of extra parts when you
are done, especially if you use
the Brassin ones. Two sprues
contain just the armament
alone, and one sprue with two
canopies. Also included are two
frets of etch, one pre-painted
and one nickel plated along
with a set of Eduard masks.
BIGSIN
Now if you were to build this
beauty out of the box it would
be excellent, but of course, I
can’t leave well enough alone.
Eduard ofers a BigSin set for
this model that contains an
Interior (#648144), Exhaust
Nozzle (#648117), Wheel Wells
(# 64 8 049), W h e e l s (# 64 8 1 1 0),
