uring the Six-Day
War, fought between
5 and 10 June 1967,
Israel chose to deploy
its Mirage III leet ofensively
over the demilitarised zone
located on the Israeli side of
the border with Syria. A small
detachment of 12 Mirages
(comprising 4 permanently in
the air and 8 at a high state of
readiness on the ground) were
assigned to defend the skies
of Israel against attacks by
hostile bombers, virtually all
other Mirages were equipped
with bombs and deployed on
bombing raids against Arab air
bases. During the irst day of
combat, a total of 6 MiGs ere
claimed to have been shot down
by the Mirages, and during
the following days, Mirages
typically performed as ighters,
and out of a claimed total of 58
Arab aircraft shot down in air
combat during the conlict, 48
were accounted for by Mirages.

COCKPIT AND
INTERIOR
Construction began with the
cockpit, which was built as per
the instructions and primed in
black. I also painted the inside

the inside of the engine and
internal nacelle for the exhaust.
The ejection seat was then
built, primed and painted in
black with the seat cushions
painted in a dark sand colour.
The details were then picked up
with a little bit of dry brushing.
Seatbelts were from the

Eduard etched set and glued
into place using a little drop of
CA glue on the end of a cocktail
stick. The rest of the cockpit
etched parts were then glued
into place, followed by dry
brushing the entire tub. Once
the cockpit had time to dry,
