The house is very well insulated;
the Stompi wood stove is only
used after sundown in the winter
months. These stoves were used in
local classrooms in the old days.

from KlooftiqueThe chairs and sideboard in the lounge were handed down from Godfrey’s parents who
recently sold their family home to move into a retirement village. The chairs were re-covered
in an avocado-green, the same colour as the original 1970s upholstery. The side tables were
designed by Godfrey and built by his dad, who used to weld fences and gates in his spare time.
The carpets are all in the same Bokhara design to create a cohesive look. September 2019 home 37
