The tail control cable were next to be itted,
these had a tricky little feature, the cables split
into two about halfway down, the photo-etch
sheet contained some three holed triangles for
this. To try and get both side level was pretty
iddly. Next up, the engines and central wing
section. The two Rolls-Royce Eagle engines are
built with stunning detail, with around twenty
parts per engine. I used the AK Interactive
True Metal range to paint these components,

and each engine its into its own wood efect
frame. The centre wing section now painted
was then itted. This a critical component, as
weight of those huge wings will be supported
here. Make sure all the attachment points are

paint free and clean. To strengthen the joints, I
used superglue. With all Wingnut Wings builds
a certain amount of forethought is need, the
rigging of the centre section is far easier to carry
out at this stage. A surprisingly large number
of rigging lines are applied in the section. The
wings were then itted, and at this stage to
true size of the model becomes apparent! The
it into the centre section is sublime, it’s a very
thick piece of plastic to take the weight. With
all the struts itted into place, everything can
be glued. The inal hurdle was the remaining
