Hope is at the Cliff House
and tracks her down to
talk. “We have definitely
seen Thomas do things that
are very out of character
over the past few months,”
allows his portrayer,
Matthew Atkinson. “He
has totally screwed every-
thing up, thinking he was
doing the right thing. He
has done some bad things
for what he believed were
good reasons. Now, he just
wants to explain things to
Hope.”
Hiding out with Vinny
hasn’t left Thomas in the
best place mentally, the
actor adds. “Being holed
up at Vinny’s left him
obsessing over every-
thing,” Atkinson relays.
“Now, he’s on the verge
of exploding. Being stuck
in that room, unable to talk
to anyone, left him angry
and frustrated because he
wasn’t able to do anything
to right his wrongs. So,
he goes to the Cliff House
determined to make things
better. In his mind, this is
his chance.”
Upon seeing Hope,
Thomas tries to defend his
actions. “If you remember,
Thomas’s first inclination
[after first hearing that Beth
was alive] was to immedi-ately go tell Hope the truth,”
Atkinson says. “That was
genuine Thomas, before
his issues started playing
into his decision-making. I
believe that he is genuinely
a good guy who has donetion. “Brooke obviously
does have a reason to have
issues with Thomas, but
he sees her as the woman
who broke up his parents’
marriage, destroyed his
family and years later, is
constantly attacking him,”
Atkinson points out. “So,
all of this boils over in a
heated clash.”
The results of which are
catastrophic. “Push comes
to shove, literally, between
Brooke and Thomas, and
he is suddenly no longer
on top of the cliff,” pre-
views the actor. “Thomas
is lying down below on
the rocks. Ridge thinks
Brooke tried to kill his son.
Hope doesn’t know what
to think. Talk about your
