DAYTIME EMMY
CHANGES AHEAD?
QThe National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences
(NATAS) is considering merging the Younger Actor and
Actress categories into one. In the past, the Daytime
Emmy Awards for Younger Actor and Younger Actress in
a Daytime Drama have recognized the work of performers
age 25 and under, according to gender. Now, NATAS is
considering a single Young Performer category, open to
all. The format is currently employed in the Outstanding
Guest Performer category. A decision is expected to be
made in the fall.
