sweep it up
QWhen it comes to hitting
the red carpet, Sharon Case
(Sharon, Y&R) keeps one style
tip in mind. “I typically like
wearing my hair up, especially
when I’m being photographed
because wearing the hair
down can create shadows on
your face,” explains the actress.
“I think you’re more apt to
get good photos with your
hair back because you
have photographers
literally all around
you, getting differ-
ent angles of you,
so you’re more
likely to get better
shots if your hair
isn’t blocking your
face.”

QGRAND HOTEL patriarch Santiago
is always a sharp-dressed man but his
portrayer’s look is decidedly more com-
fortable: “I, personally, as you can see,

Bichir. “I know the size of my waist.
Whenever I need a pair of jeans, I just
take it home. If it’s good, it’s good. That’s
that. But that’s one of the things that we
actors love [is going] from one extreme to
another.” Bichir adds that one of the reasons
you’ll always see Santiago spiffy is due
to his upbringing. “I have never played a
character like this,” notes Bichir. “This man
worked his way up with a lot of hard work
and honest work, and everything he has, he
earned it. I know many stories like that, of
many Mexicans that have made it here in a
big way, and this is a tribute to them.”
