HDT DIRECTOR
TRIBUTE

THE BEAUT THING with Tributes is they don’t
have to laud the famous and in this case it’s
more the infamous. Back In February 1987
Peter Brock launched the Director ignoring the
General, resulting in a bitter divorce and the
end of Brock’s HDT concern. Some 32 years
later we have a tribute, that’s as near as dammit
to a genuine HDT Director. It was built by an
ex-HDT employee who possibly bolted all those
glass panels on the original. Like 1987 it sure
standsout.Highestbid$48,000.

FORD CORTINA
MK1 440

$19,000
SHANNONS, LOT 9

THE FALCON XL WITH ITS squared-off
roofline and convex grille rendered the
General’s FB Holden ancient looking by
comparison, The Falcon was more powerful
too with a 170ci-Pusuit six-cylinder, the same
as in this one. Popular back then they are
a rare sight today. This is a buy and drive
having undergone a full resto and mechanical
rebuild so it’s probably better than new.

HSV VT
CLUBSPORT

$15,000
SHANNONS, LOT 29

THE CLUBSPORT badge here on a VT is
HSV’s biggest seller. This was the last model
powered by a home-grown V8 engine so
it ticks most boxes for an enthusiast or
collector. One-owner car, Holden dealer
service history and 157,000km and seems in
excellent condition. Build number 1456 with
an October 1998 compliance making it one of
the last to be made.
