AMERICANCOUPESweren’tanunusualsight
onourroadsinthelate50s,butnowtheyareas
rare as an honest polly. The Dodge Coronet was
ahead of its time with push button radio, power
brakes and plastic coverings over the seats. It
had a decent level of urge with a 325 V8 driving
through a Torquef lite auto. The body looks to be in
good nick as does the blue interior and the chrome
gleams like it is new. One thing for sure, you
couldn’t restore one for the asking price. It claims
low mileage and comes with Chrysler historic
paperwork, build sheet plus original books.

WITH A monstrous eight-litre V10 engine up front
the Viper packs more speed than Usain Bolt, with
a touch of Donald Trump, as in loud and brash.
But there is no fake news here. It’s a seriously quick
car as well as a real head turner. And its doubtful
you’ll bump into another one too often. Converted
to RHD with only 21,000 kms on the clock. New
tyres. Soft top and windows etc. This is another car
that has spent a good part of its life cooped up in a
museum, the Gosford car museum. Time to stretch
its long legs.
