MCDONNELL DOUGLAS F-15C OREGON ANG SPECIAL 2016 (SHEET NO. ED-32122)

As this set came out of the envelope, at fi rst glance, I thought
this was a Japanese Eagle scheme. Some aspects of the design
resemble those seen on Japanese specials in the past, especially
the bird’s wing design on the top of the wings and tail planes.
This very elaborate scheme is on an Oregon Air National Guard
Eagle and is one the most spectacular that we have seen on an
American F-15. We struggle to think of a better one. Your F-15C
will need to be painted in the more recent Mod-Eagle scheme of
FS36251 and FS36176. The pattern is the same as the old Light
and Dark Compass Grey but using the newer colours.
This set of markings is all about one aircraft and covers three
A4-sized sheets and a small sheet with some of the items for
the Eagle’s tailerons. A double sided, colour printed A4 sheet of

instructions completes the set. The decal sheets are beautifully
printed and the whole thing makes a spectacular set of markings.
This set is not for the beginner, many of the items are large and
will demand all the skill (and decal setting solutions) you can
muster in order to place them on your model. You will probably
need a minimum of three hands too. The 1:32 Eagle is a big model
and will take some holding while the decals are applied.
If you have one of those excellent Tamiya F-15C kits sitting on the
shelf, awaiting something spectacular to stick all over it, this could
be the answer to your prayers. There are very few outstanding
schemes on USAF Eagles. The Aggressor camoufl age schemes
are one exception but there are precious few others. The price
of this magnifi cent set is a record-breaker too, as far as we can

remember, at £59.95. Now that you have long forgotten the £
plus that you forked-out for the kit in the fi rst place, adding the
decals to get the project on to your bench doesn’t sound too bad,
does it? Our scans of the sheets show what an amazing set this is,
just picture your big Eagle in this scheme on your display shelf or
club meeting tables.
Those not into huge models will be pleased to hear that plans to
produce these markings in 1:48 and 1:72 are in place. We look
forward to seeing them in due course.
