This was completed over a number of
months. I used various diferent browns,
greens and other desert colours to
complete this, using the same technique
to do the shadows and highlights.
The stand-out parts of the rear of the
vehicle are the red cool box and baseball
cap, and the blue and yellow sleeping
bag, painted in these colours to break
up the drab camoulage colours. The
backpacks were painted in diferent
desert and temperate camoulage
patterns. I added two of the water
bottles which were included in the resin
conversion kit as a nice little touch. The
weapons were all painted with Vallejo
black, before being dry brushed with
Vallejo Of White, and then a thinned
down black ilter was applied in several
layers to dull down the harshness of
the dry brushing. This highlights the
raised parts of the weapons without
being too overpowering. The canvass
roof was painted in Vallejo Khaki and
the rocket launchers painted using a
mix of Vallejo Greens. This was the most
time-consuming part of the build! I
didn’t want to rush it as I would run the
risk of getting bored or frustrated with
it, so several other builds were started
and inished during this time! I inished
of the painting process by painting
the tyres in Vallejo Black Grey and dry
brushing them with Vallejo Neutral
Grey. I kept the weathering light on this
vehicle. I dry brushed the body of the
Humvee using a light sand colour, before
adding chipping using greens, browns
and dark greys. This was in an attempt to
replicate the original NATO three-tone
camoulage scheme showing through
in the chipping. The shelf at the rear was
given some heavy chipping using Black
Grey on a sponge to illustrate heavy
usage. Some light scratches were done
on the body of the vehicle using a light
sand colour, and that was the build
complete!
