To set up limitations on your child’s
account, go into your child’s
Facebook app, tap the three lines in the
bottom right corner, and scroll down to the
Settings & Privacy option, near the bottom of
the screen.

In the new settings that are revealed,
tap Privacy Shortcuts. Near the top,
there’s an option titled ‘Review a few
important privacy settings’. Tap it to start
your Privacy check-up. Tap Next to proceed.

On the next screen, you’re asked who
you want to see your posts. Choose
‘Friends’, so only people on your child’s Friends
list can see what he or she posts and they
won’t be accessible by anyone else.

On the next screen, you can set who
sees your child’s personal information.
We recommend you let their friends see their
hometown and email/phone number, but
keep their birthday private.

The last step allows you to review
apps and websites your child has
logged into using Facebook. There won’t be
any yet of course, but it’s a good idea to
review this information from time to time.

Another useful feature is Activity Log.
On your child’s phone, tap the
Three-line icon > Settings & Privacy > Settings
and scroll down to Activity Log. Tap it to see
what they’ve been up to on Facebook.
