are perfect for general leisure use as well. They were very comfortable, mostly
due to their lightweight construction (each shoe weighs just 330g) and flexibility.
In terms of grip, the 5cm-deep lugs on the soles should ensure you maintain your
footing on the slippiest of terrains, while the Gore-Tex membranes should
keep your feet nice and dry. A men’s version is also available.
These solid-feeling walking boots (above) should offer plenty of
protection for your feet and ankles on the longest of hikes – and they look
good, too. A waterproof, breathable lining is designed to keep your feet
dry, while a cushioned inner will provide shock absorption. The soles
feature a number of triangular grip areas which certainly feel as though
they would give you plenty of traction on a variety of surfaces. A smart

This ‘low’ walking shoe (below) is ideal for anyone wanting to
combine style with substance. The Samaris comes in a wide
range of colours and boast technical features such as a
‘seam-sealed waterproof/breathable membrane’ and
‘Hydropel upper treatment’, designed to repel moisture.
Featuring shock absorbing cushioning in the heel, they also
have a tough carbon outsole. Although the RRP is £90 there
were some good deals on Regatta’s website as we went to
