with Barracuda Studios’ Hawker

Tempest Corrected Intake Set.

Casting quality is excellent. The large casting block has been cut from the

back of the radiator using a razor saw.

CONSTRUCTION

There is not a lot to say about construction. The fit

of the parts is exceptional.

There's some clever engineering here. I liked the

very positive way the windscreen and canopy go

together, and the undercarriage is quite positive too.

I found the cockpit to be a bit of a challenge.

I broke the sidewall frames several times before

finally completing the cockpit. Before cutting

the frame parts from the sprue, I'd recommend

attaching the smaller parts and also painting and

weathering the sidewalls while they are still on

the sprue. After that, remove them carefully and

minimise handling during assembly.

Once the fuselage halves were sealed though,

assembly was very fast.

I used a few aftermarket items on this one

including Eduard's resin LooK instrument panel;

Barracuda Studios' pilot's seat with cast-on

harness straps, and also their resin intake, exhaust

and wheels.

Interior fuselage elements will be

trapped between the fuselage halves.

The intake, cockpit and tail

wheel have been glued to the

starboard fuselage interior.

The fuselage halves were

glued together and taped

while the cement set.
