SIMPLE PLEASURES


Jessica loves
relaxing holidays,
chocolate and the
Peak District

a salad and in the evenings I make a
Mindful Chef recipe. They’re really varied
and balanced, plus they encourage me
to eat a lot more plant-based meals.

My make-up routine is...
Simple. I don’t have that much time for
make-up with Liv sat on my knee and
me running round doing things. So it’s
foundation, a bit of mascara, always
a bit of eyeliner and eyebrows. I’ve
always got to fill my eyebrows in!

My ideal weekend is...
Just a chilled one with my family. We live
quite close to the Peak District so having
time out to go and enjoy the country, take
the dog and have lunch somewhere.

My ideal morning is...
Not being woken up at 5am! Having
a nice lie-in, that would be lovely, and
having breakfast in bed. I love it when
everyone is calm and chilled, and
there is no crying.

My dream holiday is...
Probably New Zealand or somewhere
I’ve never been before. I’d love to have
a long, relaxing holiday there. Maybe with
some sightseeing but pretty much just
lying round the pool and reading a book.

My future goal is...
Just to be happy and for my kids to be
happy. And for my new fitness app
Jennis to be successful!

My get-fit tip is...
Go at your own pace. Just find a way
into exercise that suits you and then take
it at your own rhythm and gently build
up. And stay committed!

My gym tip is...
You don’t HAVE to go to the gym – you
can start off at home and do exercises in
environments when you’re not in front of
everyone. When you’re confident with the
exercises, you could take them to the gym.

My motivational
music is...
I’ve just been listening to Beyoncé’s
Coachella Homecoming live album! But
usually I like hip-hop and R&B. I need
something that will get me pumped up.

My guilty pleasure is...
Chocolate. I have a massive sweet tooth.
After every evening meal, my husband
and I check what chocolate we’ve got. My
favourite is this lovely M&S butterscotch
chocolate bar but I can demolish it in one
go. And if we haven’t got any chocolate,
we’re raiding Reggie’s chocolate!

My mental wellbeing is...
My exercise. It’s having time to
completely switch off, not be on my
phone and let my mind not think of
the million things I need to do.

My diet is...
I’d always have a coffee in the morning
and my vitamin C, and then I’d have some
cereal. My husband has been making
home-made granola – what a little
legend he is! Liv loves eating that for
breakfast too, so I’ll have that with some
yogurt. I usually have a light lunch, like
