yesterday when they purchased their

street steel weapon of choice from

WTP located in Penrith just before

Christmas in 2018 and oh what a

cracker it is powered with a 550hp

Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine which is

bolted to an Eaton 18 speed Roadranger

transmission and sits on Airliner rear

suspension. Joined by their two sons

Brad and Ricky, it’s a fully functioning

family business with the distance of

their dedication showing up as a speed

dial accumulation of 970,000km but

who’s counting. It’s the Brady Bunch of

trucking with a well rounded 6 trucks

that make up a family fleet of loyal truck

soldiers lined up on the start of every

day waiting to be steered so as to serve.

Unlike his siblings though the Argosy

has been fitted with a whopping 13,500

litre water tank. Chris leans over to

state, “The Freightliner Argosy had the

chassis and rear overhang extended to

accommodate the water tank.” Chris and

the boys are kept pretty busy carting

water for road works in terms of dust

suppression, which they handle with fan

sprays.

Keeping it clean and shiny Ray Bartolo

from Londonderry in NSW showcased

a total sparkler with his dynamic 1999

International S3600 model. She hasn’t

known any other owner since Ray has

had her from new but she is partial to

the odd nip and tuck, which has brought

her a new lease on life and served her

well. The International S3600 is run by

a Cummins N14 Celect Plus raunchy

“Redhead” engine at 525hp with Eaton’s

18 speed Roadranger gearbox cruising

along on Hendrickson HAS461 Series

rear air suspension. Suffice to say

that Ray is chuffed with the power,

performance and the overall reliability

of the Australian built S3600. With

over three decades of the trucking

world under Ray’s belt, anything that

Ray doesn’t know about trucking isn’t

worth knowing. These days he’s carting
