SUNDAY MORNING’S MUSIC

City Record Collectors’ Convention brought
much vinyl to the Nashville Palace, pleasing
diehard disc collectors, and also attracting
many non-festival attendees. On Sunday
evening the live music returned to the

Opryland Hotel. The crowd for the finale
was noticeably larger, with several hundred
attendees arriving just for the closing
portion of the weekend, but the Johnny-
come-latelies were welcomed to the party.
The Lonesome Souls kicked off the
evening with a fine hillbilly-flavoured set.
Next JD McPherson kicked in with a set of
big beat rock’n’roll, wowing both neophyte
fans and well-travelled boppers.

New Orleans-based R&B singer
Nikki Hill electrified the crowd
with her high-energy blues
