Ocean Conservancy with a beach cleanup followed
by the launch of a limited edition dive watch in BaliB

its commitment
to environmental
causes via a
partnership with
Ocean Conservancy, an organisation
dedicated to protecting the oceans.
And both partners descended on
Bali in May for a beach cleanup
that saw hundreds of volunteers
doing their part in raising awareness
on the importance of keeping the
oceans clear of pollutants. Among
the volunteers were Breitling’s
Surfers Squad comprising 11-time
surfing world champion Kelly
Slater, Stephanie Gilmore and Sally
Fitzgibbons.
“We’re all proud to be able to work
with Breitling,” said Janis Searles
Jones, CEO of Ocean Conservancy.
“We’re thrilled that this partnership
contributes to our important work
to keep plastic and trash out of our
oceans.” The initiative cleared thebeach of more than 600kg of trash.
Later that day, Breitling launched
the Superocean Heritage Ocean
Conservancy Limited Edition
featuring a Nato strap of Econyl
yarn made from recycled fishing nets
salvaged from oceans.
The attractive blue strap is
available in two versions, striped and
plain, and is matched with a 44mm
stainless steel case, a scratch proof
unidirectional bezel, a silver dial and
a COSC-certified chronograph.
Limited to 1,000 pieces, the
caseback is engraved with the Ocean
Conservancy logo. Part of proceeds
from the sale of the watch will go to
supporting the non-profit.
“This initiative in Bali underscores
the power of our partnership with
Ocean Conservancy. With the
launch of this watch, we thus add a
meaningful and credible element to
our partnership,” reiterates Georges
Kern, CEO of Breitling.
