The Style

Fashion and style are a great way for individuals to
express themselves. It is not just about clothes, it is
about feeling fabulous, empowered and confident in
your own skin, and expressing yourself without saying
a word. Whilst there are some questionable trends out
there (e.g. the Dad trainer..just saying (ha ha!)), if you
have the confidence, you can look wonderful whatever
you are wearing. I think my style reflects my
personality, and I cannot get enough of bold, bright
colours and prints – super fun and a great way to boost
your mood and have an impact on those around you.

What do you love about fashion?

Which item can you not leave the house

without?

My heart-shaped Blank sunglasses are always in my
huge handbag (so I guess this is two things I can’t
leave the house without!), come rain or shine. When it
is sunny, no explanations needed. But when it is grey
and gloomy, I love to hide my tired eyes behind my
sunnies, instantly making my exhausted face look
better!

Tips for summer fashion as a mum...
As a mum, getting ready needs to be quick and easy, and
making your wardrobe work for you is key. I always
recommend getting gold sandals, as they will elevate even
the most basic of looks (Kurt Geiger and Office usually
have some beauties). They go with everything and are
super flattering on your feet as they elongate your legs and
generally look chic, yet fun.

Everyone needs some denim shorts. They have always
been a summer staple and this year is no different. Try
different shapes, like the high waisted paper bag style
from Topshop. So easy to dress up/down. Wear with
sandals and a tee, or layer up with a smart blazer and
espadrille wedges. A perfect and easy day to night outfit.

Go bold with your colours. Most mums I know are non-
stop, and nothing detracts more from a tired face than
some vibrant colour and pattern. Even if you lather on
some red lippy or wear some statement earrings or a
headband (Anthopologie have some amazing options),
this will do the trick, believe me (and wack on those
sunnies – see above!).

White jeans are going to be a staple this summer but, be
warned, these will be covered in child excretions and
debris pretty much immediately. You will look fab for a
good 5 minutes, though, so totally worth it.
