MODELLING DELIGHTS
BACHMANN EUROPE has
announced releases from
Academy, AFV Club, Roden,
Takom and Trumpeter, which
cover most modelling genres,
all are expected to be available
from between August and
September 2019.
While there are several
re-releases (see below for a full
listing), there are plenty of newly
tooled products, including one
or two surprises. Chief among
these are Academy’s 1/400 USS
Missouri BB-63 (which hasn’t
previously been produced in
this scale) and AFV Club’s long-
awaited Korean War Centurion
Mk.3 tank, while there are bases
for the latter’s 1/350 U-Boat
and LST kits from Hobby Fan.
Trumpeter’s lovely 1/32 P-
returns as an N-variant, while
the firm’s fascination with
German and Russian/Soviet
anti-aircraft and rocket-launcher
machines continues. This
summer will see the release
of a 1/35 Pantsir-S1 wheeled
combined gun/missile vehicle
and an Uragan-1M multiple-
launch rocket system; maritime
modellers will get a newly tooled
1/350 Taszkient 1940 destroyer.
Similarly, Takom has been busy
with an all-new 1/35 Polish
PL-01 concept tank design
and a German Bergepanzer
2 armoured recovery vehicle.
Fans of small-scale vehicles
will be treated to a two-kit 1/
combo set, offering examples
of the Soviet Object 279 and
Object 279M quad-tracked
experimental tanks.
Roden is releasing a Vomag
truck in the same scale, along
with a 1/144 Convair CV-
twin-propeller-powered airliner
in Hawaiian carrier livery.
