eight-speeddual-clutch gearboxandsends

powertotherearwheels.Asaresult,the

coupécanacceleratefrom0-62mphin4.

secondsandreachatopspeedof182mph.

AddtheoptionalSportChronopackage,

andafurther0.2secondsareshaved

offthat0-62mphtime.

Despitehavinglesspower,theCarrera’s

fueleconomyisthesameastheS’s,with

THEnumberofroaddeathsintheUKhasremainedvirtuallyunchanged

since2012,accordingtothelatestGovernmentstatistics.Datareleased

bytheDepartmentforTransportrevealstherewere1,782fatalitieson

UKroadsin2018–downonepercenton2017,butmorethan2012’s

figureof1,754.Therewere160,378casualtiesofallseveritieson

UKroadsin2018–sixpercentdownon2017.

Therewasasubstantialreductioninroaddeathsfrom2006-2010,but

asAAheadofroadspolicyJackCousenspointedout:“Sincetheremoval

ofroadsafetytargetsin2010,progresshasstopped.Theseshouldbe

reinstatedasBritainsetsouttohavethesafestroadsintheworld.”

differencebetweentheCarreraandCarrera

Svisually,additionalchangesarefound

undertheskin.Aswellasthenewturbos,

theCarreraalsofeaturessmaller330mm-

diameterbrakediscsupfrontandfour-

pistoncalipersonallfourcorners.

Thenewmodel’sstandardequipmentwill

bethesameasontheCarreraS,including

PorscheActiveSuspensionManagement,

LEDheadlights,heatedfrontseats,front

andrearparkassistandcruisecontrol.

Anall-wheeldriveCarrera4willarrive

atalaterdatetomirrortheCarrera4S.

Porschehasalsoconfirmedthatamanual-

gearboxversionofthebase911willbe

offeredinduecourse,too.
