necessarilybig,”saysMichelle.“Wedecidedtobuild
small,paymorepersquaremetreandliveina house
thatwasn’tfullofmassivesacrifices.”
TheycalledinTimGittosandCarolineRobertson
ofSpacecraftArchitectsinWellingtontocreatea
south-west-facingsilversquarewithanasymmetrical
pitchedroof.Theirfirstmovewastomakethehouse
relatetothepond,a peacefulviewthatwillalterlittle
overtime,turningawayfromanencroachinggroup-
homedevelopment.
