A yellow-lipped sea krait swims to the reef after surfacing for
a breadth of air in the Bohol Sea, Apo Island, the Philippines.
Because the sea snake feels vulnerable at the surface of the
water, it dives straight back down vertically after filling its lungs.
The species is said to be more venomous than a cobra but
it’s not aggressive.
