stitches(Fig 13 ). Usethetechnique
forpointsdescribedinstep 13 tohelp
youwiththeleafpoints.Stitch the
gap in the garland closed.

andleavesinthisway.Then
pininplaceandthenstitchdownthe
four(4)flowerheadsinthesameway
(Fig 14 ). Seeappliquétipsonpage
26 foranalternativewayto prepare
this shape for appliqué.

Usingthetinycircletemplate,
makea papertemplateusing
the inner seam allowance. With the
WSofyourfabriccircletowardsyou,
knotsecurelythensewa smallneat
runningstitchallthewayaround
usinga inseam.Placethepaper
templateinthecentreandgentlydraw
upstitchesandsecureyourthread.
Presswellfrombothsides.Carefully
popthepaperpieceout.Pinthecircle
inplaceandstitchdownasbefore(Fig
15 ). Repeatwithalltwelve(12)tiny
circles to complete the block.

lines. Trim to 24 in square.

Makeanothereight(8)blocks
usinga mixtureoffabrics.When
complete,layouttheblocksinthree
(3)rowsofthree(3).Sewtheblocks
intorowsbeforesewingthethreerows
together to finish the quilt top.
Quiltingandfinishing

Piecethebackingfabricby
cuttingtheyardageintotwo(2)
equal lengths. Remove the selvedges
andsewtogetheralongthelength
witha inseamallowancetoform
a centre seam. Press well all over.

backingfabric(RSdown),the
battingandthequilttop(RSup).
Basteorpinthelayerstogetherand
thenquiltasyouwish.Jofree-motion

batting and square up the quilt.
