To save time during the two-
day event at UMC, MotoAmerica
eliminated the 15-minute Super-
bike Superpole session, setting the
grid on riders’ best times during the
two Qualifying Practice sessions on
Saturday morning. In addition, the
grids for Race Two in the Super-
sport and Junior Cup classes were
set using riders’ fastest lap times
turned during Race One.
The new two-day events were
implemented as a way of cutting
the operational and travel expens-
es of being active on Fridays at
venues that traditionally haven’t
