Liqui Moly Junior Cup

Rocco Landers, age 14, dom-
inated the Junior Cup race on his
Ninja400R.com/Norton Motor-
sports/Dr. Farr Racing Kawasaki
Ninja 400. By the end of the first
lap, Landers had a 1.5-second ad-
vantage. He then rode away to win
the 12-lap race by 9.270 seconds
and extended his Championship
lead to 26 points.
Quarterley Racing On Track
Development Kawasaki’s Dallas
Daniels and Altus Motorsports
Kawasaki’s Kevin Olmedo fought
over second place right down to
the last corner. Daniels was lead-
ing when Olmedo dived inside of
him on the brakes. Daniels got a
better drive out of the corner, how-
ever, and beat Olmedo to the line
by 0.063-second to take second.
Josh Serne, a former regular
in the MotoAmerica KTM RC Cup,
made his Junior Cup debut on a
Floyd’s of Leadville Kawasaki Nin-
ja 400 and came home in fourth
place. Veloce Racing Yamaha’s
Karen Ogura, the older sister of
Moto3 World Championship rider
Ai Ogura, beat Dominic Doyle and
his Kawasaki in a run to the finish
line for fifth.

Twins Cup

Roadracing World Young
Guns Suzuki rider Alex Dumas,
age 16, got the holeshot at the

start of the Twins Cup race and
led Championship points leader
Michael Barnes, age 50, and his
Quarterley Racing Ducati Monster
797 until lap 10 of 12. That’s when
Roaring Toyz/1-833-CJ-KNOWS
Yamaha’s Kaleb De Keyrel finished
his charge from 12th on the grid to
the front and overtook Dumas on
the brakes at Turn Two. Dumas
fought back immediately, but on
the next lap Dumas downshifted
one too many times while lining
up a pass on De Keyrel into Turn
Two and ran wide. Barnes rolled
past Dumas to take over second
place, but no one had anything for
22-year-old De Keyrel, who went
on to win his first MotoAmeri-
ca race after a four-year absence
from the series.
Barnes was a close second
just ahead of Dumas in third, but
considering De Keyrel is not in
contention for the Championship,

Barnes’ runner-up finish allowed
him to extend his Championship
point lead from 11 to 18 points
over AP Moto Arts Yamaha’s Draik
Beauchamp, who finished fourth
in the race. RiderzLaw Racing Su-
zuki’s Kris Turner said his rear
tire developed an air leak, limiting
him to fifth at the finish.

Stock 1000

Defending Stock 1000 Cham-
pion Andrew Lee rode his Franklin
Armory/Graves Kawasaki ZX-10R
to win at Laguna Seca by holding
off Geoff May and his Ameris Bank
Kawasaki ZX-10R by a small mar-
gin from start to finish. Lee won
by 0.959-second over May to take
his second consecutive win and his
third of the season, stretching his
lead in the Championship stand-
ings from two to 11 points over
Stefano Mesa, who finished third
on his Mesa 37 Racing Kawasaki
ZX-10R. Weir Everywhere Racing
BMW’s Travis Wyman was fourth,
and Michael Gilbert finished in
fifth on his Team Norris Racing Ka-
wasaki ZX-10R.
