in his first season, although it was

by no means comfortable. Losing

Chuks Aneke to Charlton leaves

him with a void to fill upfront, but

Hiram Boateng and Regan Poole

arrive after stellar League Two

seasons with Exeter and Newport.

The U’s finished a disappointing

last season with a flourish, taking

27 points from 13 games. Tariqe

Fosu and Alex Rodriguez will bring

quality, but the big success is in

holding onto Gavin Whyte amid

Championship interest, especially

having lost Curtis Nelson to Cardiff.
