the Long Island Rail Road in
New York’s Hamptons.
Several musicians,
including Queen’s Brian May,
have used flattened coins for
their guitars because the
metal is strong.
Macca was once said to
have worn acrylic nails to
stop his fingers bleeding, but
returned to a plectrum.
His pick-trick could
cost him, as it is
against US law to

a fine if an attempt
is made to use the
money again.

GENIUS Engineer Brunel
Brunel’s scrawl decoded
A COMPUTER is being trained to
decode the indecipherable hand-
writing of the British engineer
Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
A program designed by
researchers at the SS Great Britain
Trust can read 65% of his words
by building a profile based on
previously transcribed work.
It gives valuable insights into
the theories of the genius behind
the Clifton Suspension Bridge.
The trust said: “Brunel’s hand-
writing style is particularly tricky.” SPOOKY Jade and mum
Mother sees Jade’s ghost
JADE Goody’s mum says she will
never leave her family home as
she still sees her daughter’s ghost.
Jackiey Budden, 61, said the
reality star, who died in 2009 at 27,
wanted her to move out of her flat
in Bermondsey, South London.
She tells a C4 documentary: “Jade
said, ‘You’re gonna die in that flat’
but there’s so many good memo-
ries here. I can walk down the
river and look into the sky and I
don’t know how silly it might
sound but I have seen Jade.”

SIR Paul McCartney heads
to the long and winding
railroad track to pick up
new guitar plectrums.
Plucky Paul left coins on
the rails near his home so
trains could flatten them.
The Beatles legend
returned later to collect
them. An onlooker said: “He
laid a load of coins down and
left them.
“Normally it’s kids who
leave them on the track,
not a 77-year-old
grandad. It was only
when he returned did
the penny drop
- perfect plec-
trums.” Macca,
