In recent years,
old-fashioned
face scrubs have
fallen out of fashion
in favour of exfoliating
acids, but sometimes
there’s nothing quite like
the instantly smooth
sensation that a
granulated,
rinse-off
product
gives.
Nowadays,
they’re made
with gentler,
non-scratchy
particles – and are
obviously free from
microbeads – such as
these new Clarins
Face Scrubs (£26
each; clarins.
com),
which
come
in three
formulations
- cream, oil
and gel – and
are made with
natural beads from
either wood cellulose,
sugar from beetroot
or, even, lava.
Most women use some
sort of hot tool to style their
hair on a regular basis,
but over half haven’t used
a heat protecting product
beforehand in the past
12 months. If this is you,
time to try Redken Extreme
Play Safe (£21.50;
feelunique.com), a
lightweight, leave-in cream
that not only shields the hair
against temperatures of up
to 230°C but also reduces
the appearance of existing
damage and split ends.
Despite brunch overkill
and panicked rumours of
shortages, the popularity of
avocado shows no sign of
waning. Kiehl’s has used it to
create a hydrating, smoothing
treatment, Avocado
Nourishing Hydration Mask
(£36; kiehls.co.uk), which
even resembles the green
fruit in texture, “like a
perfectly ripe slice” that
turns into “a guacamole-like,
chunky-creamy texture,” says
Roberta Weiss, Keihl’s head
of product Innovation. Just
don’t spread it on your toast.
