THE BUILD
After seeing a few pics of Ausf. Fs deployed
around the time of the Kursk battles I decided to try

As they have been listed as being on the 6th Pz.Div
unit inventory around the Kursk timeframe, the
model would represent a scout and utility vehicle

tended to display a camouflaged dunkelgelb
external finish, I also thought it would make a nice
change from the typical panzergrau finish usually
seen on the Panzer II.

2cm barrel's muzzle brake was replaced with
scrap brass tube and drilled. The barrel grips were
taped up & then textured with Tamiya putty to
simulate the real deal’s appearance. This is one of
the very few areas of detail of which the kit detail
is lacking and is worth the effort to improve.
Most other kit items were cleaned up and used

easy to do enhancements.

A The field-mod spare wheel bracket was fabricated from Evergreen strip and Meng bolts
B Rear mudguard return springs were fashioned from wound copper wire. Also note the hull weld seams added from the kit’s stretched sprue
C Tasca/Asuka even provide the fire extinguisher placard on the decal sheet
D Tasca/Asuka’s fully workable tracks are a delight and quite robust, using metal pins
E Welds were added where required and enhanced on the hull front. A spare track section was also added for interest
