Little did she know that one of her first

jobs in the biz would be good training for

her latest movie, Late Night. The actress

and Mindy Project star interned on Late

Night With Conan O’Brien while she was

in college. When she went back to visit

in 2012, this time as a guest, Mindy told

Conan: “I couldn’t believe how starstruck

I was working there. I was the worst in-

tern that’s ever worked on the

program. I wanted to work

there not to learn how

to photocopy things

but to, like, watch

you. So I wouldn’t

do the things I

was hired to do. I

would just kind

of follow you

Before she was kicking ass on 2001’s Alias

or getting raves on Broadway in 2007’s

Cyrano de Bergerac, Jennifer Garner took

home cash the old-fashioned way: baby-

sitting. The parent she reported to

was a little more high profile than

the average, though:

Stephen Colbert, who met

Jen when she guest-starred

on an episode of ABC’s

Spin City in 1996. The

actress babysat for

Stephen and his wife

while she auditioned

for roles and remembers

loving their “gorgeous little

girl. She was such a peanut

and really smart.” Now

Jen’s the one allocating

the childcare budget, for

her own three kids with

ex Ben Affleck.
