I


t all started with an invitation—that hypothetical
tap on the shoulder asking if you would like to join
Reservations In Paradise, a peek into a world of
luxe wining and dining on the white sand shores of
beautiful Boracay. “This idea was born over a cup of
coffee between two friends: Amit Oberoi, the general
manager of Shangri-La Boracay at the time, and I,”
says Alex Lichaytoo, owner and co-founder of Bacchus
International. “We wanted to showcase the resort and
our wines in a unique, no holds barred type of way.
After the first event, it took on a life of its own—and we
are now celebrating its 10th year anniversary.”
This one-of-a-kind weekend has become an annual
tradition that is known to create and deliver experiences
worth craving. It is not just one special meal that is
seared to memory, but an entire adventure that sweeps
you off your feet. Guests enjoy a world-class stay at this
Shangri-La property, which is made extra special with
breakfast, lunch, and dinner for all three days, featuring

internationally acclaimed food and beverage prepared by
top-shelf talents. We were also provided with a bracelet,
signifying access to unlimited wine for the weekend.

Day 1
We stepped off the plane and into Shangri-La’s private
speedboat, which glided along Boracay’s rehabilitated
pristine waters, allowing us to take in views of the
island’s white sand shores. The speedboat then took a
turn into the secluded idyll that is Shangri-La Boracay
Resort and Spa, where we saw hillsides peppered with
tree-top villas and a dock humming with the pounding
of local drumbeats as the resort welcomed its guests.
