First Dates star Fred Sirieix at Claridge’s.
Grosvenor and Fortnum & Mason are headline
sponsors of the 2020 awards. Keith Bailey (pictured),
Grosvenor’s Mayfair director, said: “Grosvenor is proud
to sponsor the Community Awards of Mayfair & St
James’s. Mayfair is an incredibly diverse community
that represents different cultures, backgrounds and
perspectives.
“What makes a place great is the sense of community
its people foster and in Mayfair, there are many
outstanding personalities with many inspiring stories.
The awards are a great opportunity to highlight the
people who make Mayfair really special.”
Zia Zareem-Slade, customer experience director at
Fortnum & Mason, said: “As a family-owned business,
we’ve been the ultimate corner shop for our neighbours
in Mayfair and St James’s for more than three centuries,
a relationship of mutual support that continues to this

“From our Piccadilly beehives and rooftop moss
panels – recently installed to help improve air quality
in the surrounding environment – to the continued
patronage of our partner charities the Felix Project and
StreetSmart, our involvement with the local community
is of vital importance to us.
“It’s therefore with great pride and excitement that we
are sponsoring the Community Awards of Mayfair & St
James’s for the second year running, an event that brings
our f lourishing neighbourhoods together for a good
c ause.”
The event will see 10 awards – including new category
Hospitality Hero – presented to winners nominated by
Mayfair Times readers and chosen by a judging panel.
John Russo, CEO of Maddox Gallery, sponsoring the
Unsung Hero category, said: “We are absolutely thrilled
to be sponsoring the Mayfair Times awards. Having
opened our first gallery three years ago on Maddox
Street, right in the heart of Mayfair, we have firmly
established our roots in the area and we are delighted to
be supporting our local community.”
In the run-up to the big night, each issue of Mayfair
Times will take a closer look at the categories, beginning
with Commercial Newcomer and Long Service.
Oliver Smith, head of St James’s at The Crown Estate,
which is sponsoring the Commercial Newcomer award,
said: “We recognise the important role that new talent
plays in maintaining the vibrancy and diversity of
Mayfair and St James’s. We’re delighted to be sponsoring
this award and to celebrate the many new businesses
which have made their mark in the district this year.”
