riding numbers provided

Dayone started at the

Baa in the village andwas

agentle introductiontothe

areaforthose not familiar

with it. Daytwo had astart

areaoutsidethe village

and amuchbigger course.

With excellent

feedbackfromall riders,

it is expected theevent

will goon to become a

regularfixture in the

scene andattrac ttwo-day

enthusiastsfromall over

to theNorth East centre.

boys

The Kia Series has beenraising

funds forateenagecancercharity

in memoryofyoung trials rider

DominicFeaks who died last

year at theageof21. Of the many

fundraisingevents,potentially

the most glamorouswould be the

calendargirls shoot held inJuly,at

Ali and Carmel Haigh’sbeautiful

farm andweddingvenue, at Long

FurlongFarm near Daventry.

We say‘potentially’ as the

ladies photographed–all wi vesor

partners of riders who compete in

the Kia Championship trials, along

with twoladyrider s–wereindeed

glamorous, howeverthe month of

Aprilwasreserved especiallyfor

the male riders who draggedup

for their photos. This proved to be

bothhysterical andabit disturbing

–especiallyasone rider,who will

remain nameless, stayedinhis

dress, full make-up and wig for

severalhours on the pretence that

he wanted his friends to see him.

The fun photoshootwasfollowed

withatrial and thenaraffleand

food. The dayitselfraised an

incredible total of £1,270 and that

is not including the sponsorship or

sales of the calendar itself.

sectionsagood weekend’s

sport ispromised.

The club have gained

sponsorship from

Pentagon Buildersand

Motorama Bissonfor 2020

and makingyour way

to Jersey is reasonably

easy throughFairfield

Motorsportwhodeal with

CondorFerries.

The start area has been

changed for nextyear too,

as there is space at the

RoyalJersey Horticultural

Society,whichwill ease

parking problemsfor

dayone.

Those ridingwill be told

at the startbut it helps

to be forewarned too,the

States ofJersey Police

deem standing up while

riding onthe road as trick

riding and frownupon it.
