- The Atlas can be easily clocked, which is great
for those shooting for a high-clearance flat belly or
anyone needing to cheat a little extra clearance from
their front driveline. We clocked ours nearly flat, so it
tucked above the S-10’s framerails. - To get a little more room without dropping or
clocking the T-case, we modified our Sky’s Offroad
Design crossmember. Using the mounting feet from
the provided Atlas mount, we were able to merge the
two into one unit. - Given that we’ve cut out a few of the original
crossmembers over the course of this build, we
decided it would be a good idea to add a new one. To
make good use of the new crossmember, we picked
up an Atlas support bracket from TMR Customs. This
Atlas-specific bracket sandwiches the tailhousing on
the T-case, providing extra support. - As is the case with the forward crossmember,
the TMR support uses a single polyurethane bush-
ing mount. To ensure the rear crossmember was
easily removable, we modified a set of suspension
brackets from Barnes 4WD and used the company’s
spherical rod ends to attach the crossbar to the
welded-on mounts.
