ne person we don’t need to ask this question of is
‘Mad Mike’ Whiddett, the biggest name in drifting on
the planet, because when that door knock was made,
he took it by the balls and built the Lamborghini you
see before you.
For Mike, the idea of building a supercar that was drift-
capable for the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS) was something
that he’d been toying with to the point at which he actually had
renders and a proposal of what it would look like, and what it would
take to build. Actually turning those renders into reality, was a whole
’nother thing. It wasn’t until a chance meeting during the FOS ball
that everything changed.
“Last year at the ball, out of 180 tables, I was sat on table two,
which was incredible. Lord March was seated next to me and in our
discussions he asked what I was planning to build for next year as
the cars were getting wilder every year, and he didn’t know how I’d
top the Gen 7.3 MADBUL I had there. I told him I wanted to build a
drift supercar and reveal it there [at Goodwood]. I showed him the
renders on my phone over dinner. Lord March then turned to the
guy sitting next to his dad, the Duke of Richmond, who happened
to be Stefano [Domenicali], CEO of Lamborghini; he told me I need
no introduction as he already followed me and was well aware of
what I do. Lord March told me to show Domenicali what I wanted
to do for the next year. I was kinda like, argh, should I just show

The full Fi Exhaust system will not only throw a big old flame on request, but it will
also probably kill the speaker in your phone if you try to record it too close — but
is there anything more Mad Mike than a screaming naturally aspirated?
