justice he felt it deserved, Chris set out to get his hands on the
mack daddy of Daihatsu running-gear packages, and, luckily for
him, it wasn’t far away — sitting on the same back lawn whence
the rolling body had come.
That same friend Tim from earlier was sitting on a damaged
TR-XX Mira. Now, unless you’re a Mira aficionado, we don’t expect
you to know what that means, so let us fill you in: the TR-XX was
the top-tier offering that came crammed with a monster — as far
as Miras go, anyway — three-cylinder turbo powerhouse that
made bang on the 47kW limit that a kei was able to make and had
more waiting to be tapped into by those looking for it. Chris was
able to sweet-talk the donor car away from Tim under the promise
of transferring all the good bits over into the four-door to make one
good example.
With the cars built like Lego, it was a simple case of unbolting
everything from one shell and throwing it at the other. However,
Chris took the opportunity to brew up a little recipe of his own and
push the boundaries of that 47kW figure. Using a set of pistons
