THIS month marks half a century
since troops were first deployed
on the streets of Belfast in what
would become the British Army’s
longest continuous campaign.
Some 300,000 personnel served
in Northern Ireland over the
subsequent 38 years, and 1,441
lost their lives. These images
were captured by Soldier during
