As you can see by the

photograph, I have screwed a few

cans onto a board so rather than

fumbling with a bunch of cans when

I want to move them, all I have to

do is pick up the board. I have

separate cans for my watercolour

pencils and whilst I am working on

a project I employ one large can to

put the pencils I am using into...

this saves me rummaging around

my tins for that specific colour and

it also makes it easier to move at

a moment’s notice. So when you

need to pack everything up just

cover your artwork with a sheet of

cardboard, lay the board flat and

stack everything on top of it then

move it to a safe place until you next

get inspired to continue the work.

So here is your personal

‘Space’ regimen, so go

forth and find yours. n

HINTSHINTS

• Make sure your ‘Space’
  is away from inspiration
  destroying distractions


• Make it simple and
  easy to relocate


• Put soft tissue paper in the
  bottom of your cans to keep your
  pencils from banging about


• Make your own drawing board
  out of MDF, 2 hinges and a
  can of spray paint, making
  sure you put some non slip
  matting on the edges.


• Put on your favourite music
  and draw your little pants off.
