1 Go over your lettering with the same pen colour to darken
the colour at the top.
2 Go over again with a darker shade, remember not to
overwork or you will get pilling of the paper.
3 Go back over with your lighter shade to blend any sharp
edges of colour.
1 To help you, imagine a light shining on your lettering. Draw a
light source direction in pencil, I chose the top left.
2 Then in the opposite side write shadow. I chose grey as my
shadow colour, but you can use any darker colour.
3 Everywhere you think there is a shadow, use your shadow
pen colour to draw a line to the dark side of your lettering.technique 2:
the Blending
The blending of coloured lettering
really makes it stand out. Use darker
shades of the same colour, or
contrasting colours.
technique 3:
shadow effect One
There are two shadow techniques.
This first one can be as thick or
as thin as you want to make it.
Play around with the different
thicknesses.Regular: Masterclass
