A
ll of us desire that it is important that
our life happens to be a healthy one.
Many great men and a several doctors
and even non professionals write articles on
it. It is not only interesting to read books with
absorbing and minute details about health and
its maintenance, a lot of statistics and general
knowledge, but they all serve as a great teacher
to conduct our lives purposefully
Recently one of the books chosen as the best
sellers happens to be the one titled, “Well
Being.” This is a book that provides plenty
of rare details with the related researches made
in their branches. Tom Rath and Jim Arter are
its two combined authors. I was excited on
reading this book, purchased by me in the
famous Kino Kuniya in Singapore. Their
approach to healthy life consisting of five basic
rules is something very unique. No.1. Should
have a satisfying profession – must have
satisfying one. No.2. A healthy social and
friendly life with your colleagues, No. 3. Safe
economic life No.4. A good life that safeguards
health. No.5. Others and good health. This
book explains how all the above five are inter
connected. This book sets us thinking by
providing very useful and minute details with
such ease.
Most of us keep thinking that if we suffer from
diabetes or heart ailment, even the educated
believe that these diseases will affect our
children too. But do you know the surprising
revelation that they make? They assert that
these diseases will affect generation after
generation. They have termed this as
EPIGENETIC INHERITANCE which has
been confirmed by the Biologists. It can be
avoided if we take preventive measures with
appropriate diet at young age. If we fail to do
so, it might affect even the third generation
and so on what a useful warning! Healthy food
not simply that which is only tasty that
gradually destroys the firmness of health is
good forever.
It is good to sleep 7 to 8 hours a day. Only
through this the brain manages to complete
its various functions properly. Besides saying
this, they also insist on us a minimum of 20
hours per week a regular walking exercise
which is very essential. They emphasize on
the three some combination of food, exercise
and sleep. It shows the direction just as a light
house shows the way to a ship.
